Radwen
Pendant with Labradorite, Raven and Crescent Moon.
4 x 2.5 cm
Labradorite is a mineral from the feldspar group, known for its labradorescence - blue, green, gold or purple reflections that appear inside the stone depending on the angle of the incident light. It is formed when igneous rocks cool, and its changing play of colors is the result of fine structures inside the crystal. It acts as a stone that hides its light and reveals it gradually.
In the esoteric tradition, labradorite is associated with intuition, protection and transformation. Its hidden flashes symbolically remind us of the ability to perceive even what is not obvious at first glance and to trust our own inner voice. It is also associated with transitional periods and the ability to go through change without losing ourselves.
In European mythology, the raven is often associated with mystery, prophecy, wisdom and the boundary between the known and the unknown. In Celtic traditions, the raven also appears in connection with the goddess of war and fate, the Morrígan, who could take the form of a raven or a crow. The waning crescent moon then represents the phase of completion, departure and release - a time when attention turns inward and prepares space for a new cycle.
The combination of labradorite, raven and waning moon creates a piece of jewelry about intuition, transformation and the courage to let go of what has already served its purpose. The raven acts here as a guide to the darker part of the journey, the moon reminds us of the natural cycle of endings and new beginnings and labradorite shows that even in moments of decline, a hidden light can remain within. It is a symbol of quiet strength, wisdom and rebirth.
The construction of the jewelry is handmade from surgical steel and the connecting material is an alloy of tin and silver. The jewelry is then treated similarly to silver - we polish it once in a while. The more the jewelry is worn, the better it gets, it polishes itself on the wearer's clothes, skin, etc. The metal is stable and does not contain nickel or heavy metals. The jewelry can be worn all the time, even in water, but it is good to dry it afterwards and care for it more often. The jewelry is hung on a braided, cotton cord and secured with an enlargement knot.
