Onyx is a variety of Chalcedony and occurs in many different shades of black, brown, red and yellow. Due to its layering, Onyx was given the Greek name Onux- Onyx, which means nail. Its historical roots go back to ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome, where it was very popularly used for statues and vessels, medallions and mosaics, where its semi-translucency is still used in interiors for decorative purposes today. The construction of the jewelry is handmade from surgical steel and the connecting material is an alloy of tin and silver.
