Midsommar
Smaller pendant with raw Olivine.
Measures 3 x 2.5 cm
This piece of jewelry combines the ancient symbol of the solstice with natural raw olivine. The circle with four arms pointing to the cardinal points and a central point is one of the oldest solar symbols of humanity. It represents the endless cycle of nature, the change of seasons, the balance between light and darkness and the eternal renewal of life. The center of the symbol resembles the source of life force, while the four arms refer to the four cardinal points, the elements and important points of the solar cycle during the year.
Olivine is a mineral formed deep in the Earth's mantle at very high temperatures. It is one of the first minerals to crystallize from magma and is an important component of volcanic rocks. Its characteristic olive-green color is due to the content of iron and magnesium. Some olivine crystals reached the Earth's surface during volcanic eruptions from depths of tens of kilometers underground. Interestingly, olivine has also been found in meteorites, making it one of the minerals that connect the Earth to the universe.
Symbolically, olivine represents growth, vitality, and the power of nature. Its green color is reminiscent of an awakening landscape, new beginnings, and the constant transformation of life. Combined with the solstice symbol, it creates an image of balance between the earth and the sun, between stability and movement, between the end of one cycle and the beginning of the next.
The construction of the jewelry is handmade from surgical steel and the connecting material is an alloy of tin and silver. The jewelry is then treated similarly to silver - we polish it once in a while. The more the jewelry is worn, the better, it polishes itself on the clothes, the skin of the wearer, etc. The metal is stable and does not contain nickel or heavy metals. The jewelry can be worn all the time, even in water, but after that it is good to dry it and treat it more often. The jewelry is hung on a braided, cotton cord and secured with an enlargement knot.
