Jewelry with blue Labradorite and aurora.
3.5 x 2 cm
Labradorite is a mineral from the feldspar group that is formed during the slow cooling of magma deep in the earth's crust. At first glance, it seems inconspicuous, but when light hits it, it reveals its unique labradorescence - variable reflections of blue, green, gold or purple. This optical phenomenon occurs inside the crystal by the refraction of light on fine mineral structures and makes each stone a unique original. Its reflections resemble the night sky, where flashes of stars appear in the darkness.
In the esoteric tradition, labradorite is considered a stone of intuition, protection and inner transformation. It is associated with the development of imagination, trust in one's own inner voice and the ability to find light even in times of uncertainty. It is attributed with protective energy that helps maintain mental balance and the courage to follow one's own path.
The eight-pointed star, often referred to as the North Star or compass rose, is a symbol of orientation, guidance and hope. Its rays pointing to all cardinal points remind us that we can find the right direction even when we find ourselves on an unknown path. In many cultures, it represents the protection of pilgrims, constancy and light that accompanies us even in the darkest night.
The combination of labradorite and the eight-pointed star creates a piece of jewelry that connects the secrets of the earth's depths with the infinity of the night sky. The flashes of light hidden in labradorite remind us of distant stars, while the North Star symbolizes certainty, direction and confidence in our own path.
The jewelry is handmade from surgical steel and the connecting material is an alloy of tin and silver. The jewelry is then treated similarly to silver - we polish it once in a while. The more the jewelry is worn, the better it gets, it polishes itself on the wearer's clothes, skin, etc. The metal is stable and does not contain nickel or heavy metals. The jewelry can be worn all the time, even in water, but it is good to dry it afterwards and care for it more often. The jewelry is hung on a braided, cotton cord and secured with an enlargement knot.
