Tiger's Eye is a variety of quartz characterized by golden-brown to reddish-brown coloring and a distinctive silky luster. It is mined primarily in South Africa, the source of some of the finest specimens. In ancient cultures, Tiger's Eye was associated with strength, courage, and protection—qualities reinforced by its appearance, which resembles the eye of a predatory cat.
